"The Fresno Times" Millerton, Fresno County, California, Saturday, January 28, 1865. Facsimile reproduction of the first issue of the first newspaper in Fresno County. 1936.

"Sacramento Daily Record" Sacramento, Cal., Monday Morning, October 16, 1971. Vol. X. The front page has an article that discusses the terrible situation in Chicago where "houseless people are leaving the city in crowds every day" and "75000 people to be fed all winter by charity." A yellow paper label printed in black with "Bancroft & Co - 731 Market St" is affixed to top of page.

"The Fresno Morning Republican". Fresno, California, Thursday, September 10, 1908. Vol. XXXIV -No. 57. Lead article is "Stays in Air More Than One Hour" and relates two "brilliant flights made by Orville Wright With His Aeroplane, Breaking Record." Another "No Boosing wanted at Stanford. President David Starr Jordan lays down law to Collegians at beginning of Year. No place at University for Man who Carouses." (two copies of this issue).

"The Fresno Morning Republican" Fresno, California, Monday, May 27, 1912. Vol. XLI No. 148. The main front page article is titled "People of Fresno Render Final Tribute to Memory of Doctor Chester Rowell." Another "Gomez Urges U. S. Not to Intervene in Cuba."

"The Fresno Bee" Fresno, Calif., Friday Evening, April 13, 1945. Vol. 45, No. 8162. Front page has the article "Roosevelt's Body is Taken North .." with large portraits of Roosevelt and Truman; other war related articles.

"San Francisco Chronicle" San Francisco, Saturday, November 23, 1963. 99th year. No. 327. The issue is devoted to the assassination of President Kennedy and the consequences thereof.
