Eyewitness accounts by Anderson provide records of races to fur trading rendezvous, establishments of forts, and events on landmarks of the Oregon Trail. His contributions to Western history are meaningful and through his diaries and journal entries, we are thus able to get a full picture of the fur trade in 1834.
